Blue tangs have an all blue body with a white or yellow spine at the base of their tail. They grow to 5-10 inches and live between 10-60 feet. They often swim in large schools, but also can be found swimming alone. Blue tangs can change their body color from light blue to deep purple.

The juvenile blue tang is almost completely yellow, with a blue rim around the edges of its fins. As it matures, it changes to a vibrant blue color. |
