Date: 11/18/97 1:17 PM Subject: s7-26-97 / Beverly Collins Gentlemen and Ladies: I am in favor of near complete disclosure of corporate charity giving. Stockholders have a right to know where charitable donations are made and for what purpose. There might be limits set, such as any gifts under $100 in value need not be reported. Local charity needs to be defined also; e.g., the American Cancer Society claiming its "local" branch as a local charity is incorrect, since all money donated locally goes directly to the state charity fund. I believe stockholders should have input into corporate charity giving, but the charity should not be allowed to "lobby" the stockholder. Beverly Collins 2109 Marshalltown Blvd. Marshalltown, IA 50158
