Join us for the fifth annual Star Gazing event on Saturday, September 20. This stellar event will include day and night telescopes, presentations, exhibits, the Star Lab Dome planetarium, the Journey to Tomorrow traveling exhibit and much more!

Weather permitting, event guests will enjoy a great view of the planet Jupiter and other astronomical objects. Credit: NASA Our most popular annual event, Star Gazing is presented in partnership with Lake Erie Nature & Science Center Schuele Planetarium and the Cuyahoga Astronomical Association.

Don't miss this opportunity to hear about the universe, learn to identify the constellations, and see pieces of the moon and meteorites! We'll also have loads of surprises, plus kids' crafts, "Picture Yourself in Space" digital photographs and plenty of astronomy and space science handouts -- all free!

Event Schedule
Space is limited for scheduled programs, so arrive early to get your seats.

Noon to 7 p.m. - Star Lab Dome: Learn about stars and how to identify constellations. Programs on the hour and half hour. Make your reservations at the lobby desk on the day of the event.

11 a.m. - Twinkle Tots: Toddler program with laser dancing and magic! Arrive early to register and make your own glow-in-the-dark star wand to use during the program.

12 p.m. - Reach for the Stars: Hear how local college programs are making astronomy accessible to young people.

1 p.m. - Solar Weather: Learn how sunspots, solar flares and other elements of solar weather affect Earth.

2 p.m. - Solar System Musical: Enjoy a musical rendition of solar system exploration, featuring the latest images from robotic missions.

3 p.m. - Return to the Moon: Find out how and why we're going back to the moon.

4 p.m. - Comet Making: Science creates a comet right before your eyes!

5 p.m. - The ABC's of Star Gazing: Get the latest tips to use your telescope effectively.

6 p.m. - The Great Planet Debate: Find out what it takes for an object to be classified as a planet.

7 p.m. - Jupiter, King of the Planets: Learn about the latest discoveries surrounding this gas giant.

8 p.m. - The New Universe: Discover how our knowledge of the universe has expanded.

All day solar and night telescope viewing, weather permitting.

• All adult visitors are required to present government-issued photo identification.
• Access to the NASA Glenn Visitor Center is limited to U.S. citizens.
