MARSHALS CAPTURE SUBJECT WANTED FOR
MURDER OF TUSKEGEE 17 YEAR OLD
Acting on information provided by the
U. S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force in
Montgomery, AL, the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task force in
Huntsville, AL, arrested a 15 year old juvenile wanted for the April
12, 2007, shooting death of 17 year old Marquise Johnson in
Tuskegee, AL. The juvenile was located at a residence in Huntsville,
AL and taken into custody around 1:30 p.m.
The Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force began working with the
Tuskegee Police Department the day of the murder. “Task Force
officers and Tuskegee Police developed information late last night
that the subject may have traveled to the Huntsville, AL area. They
contacted the Marshals in Huntsville, AL, who immediately began
surveillance of the residence. The juvenile was observed entering
the residence this afternoon, the Marshals along with Huntsville
Police officers surrounded the residence. They were able to safely
take the subject into custody”, said U. S. Marshal Jesse Seroyer.
“This was a violent act allegedly committed by a very young man;
we’re glad that he’s in custody”, added Marshal Seroyer. The
juvenile was transported to the Madison County Youth Detention
Center in Huntsville, AL, to await transfer back to Tuskegee.
The Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force is a team comprised of
U. S. Marshals and state and local law enforcement officers in
Alabama and Mississippi. The task force objective is to seek out and
arrest fugitives wanted for crimes of violence and any charges
involving sexual assaults on children. Last year, U. S. Marshals
task forces arrested more than 27,000 state and local fugitives on
felony charges.
