(Washington, D.C) U.S. Congressman Sam Graves announced he has secured $250,000 in funding for the Atchison County Memorial Building in a bill that passed the House today. The funding will help renovate the historic building which is a memorial to the people of Atchison County who served in World War I.
“This is an important project for all of Atchison County,” said Graves. “This historic landmark will continue its mission of bringing people together and memorializing those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country.”
The funding was requested by Graves and included in the Transportation/Housing and Urban Development bill that passed the House of Representatives today. The bill is expected to pass the United States Senate and would need to be signed by the President before becoming law.
