Nonsuburban cities include law enforcement agencies in cities with less than 50,000 inhabitants that are not associated with a Metropolitan Statistical Area.

In suburban and nonsuburban cities, the number of violent crime offenses increased 3.2 percent and 2.4 percent, respectively.
In suburban cities, Murder and
nonnegligent manslaughter increased 5.6 percent collectively. In nonsuburban cities, the percentage of murders decreased 1.6 percent.
The two-year trend shows that robbery offenses increased 10.4 percent in suburban cities and 7.4 percent in the nonsuburban cities.
Property crime in both suburban and nonsuburban cities was down in 2006 when compared to 2005. The nonsuburban cities experienced a 3.7-percent decrease in reported property crime and the suburban cities had a 1.3-percent decrease.
