General Comment

Please classify amalgam as a class 3 device as that is what it is. Having been in
the dental field for 30 plus years, having been diagnosed with mercury poisoning
and having 4 children while working in a dental office, as well as breast feeding
them. This to me is an outrage as I was lied to and led to believe that this
substance was not harmful. In dental school we wore badges for the radiology
department but none for the mercury vapors in the large operatory. While pregnant
in dental school I was exempt from the radiology lab and not the operatory. That
child is learning disabled. I had lost the previous baby at 5.5 months along.
Through my own research I have studied the effects on all age groups and
amalgam should be banned. ATSDR has a book called Mercury . Wealth of info
on the research .
