The U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service), located in Arlington, VA, is seeking eligible sources capable of completing construction as descried below:

Work will consist of providing and installing wastewater treatment equipment in an existing prefabricated metal building. The work will include providing and installing two 8' diameter x 12' long drum filters, a 12' x 3' polymer mixing system, and an 18' x 5' belt filter. Mechanical work will include providing and installing grating around the drum filters and grating to support the polymer mixing system and the belt filter, as well as stairs and handrails. Mechanical work also includes providing and installing two 3-hp drum filter backwash pumps, one 5-hp house water pump, three1-hp submersible pumps, a 1/8 hp chemical metering pump, and associated piping. Concrete work consists of placing of a 24' long x 5' high x 14" thick reinforced concrete wall. This wall shall be anchored to the existing concrete floor. Piping work includes two connections to buried 24" pipes and one connection to a buried 12" pipe.Electrical and controls work includes installing 4 variable frequency drive and wire and conduit to the previously mentioned pumps and installing and programming a programmable logic controller to control the system. The work will also include installing a 300 gpm vertical pump in an existing pump station and connecting the electrical power to it.

THIS SYNOPSIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. A request for proposal will be posted on www.fedbizopps.gov approximately on January 12, 2009 with drawings and specifications available for download. Tentative award date - February 23, 2009. Estimated Price Range: $500,000 and $1,000,000. Construction must begin only after Phase II is complete summer of 2009.
