Title:
CRED Subsurface Temperature Recorder (STR) at 5.7912 m depth: GUG, Guguan, Reef Assessment and Monitoring Program (RAMP) Cruise HI0703, 2007
Abstract:
GUG, Guguan Data from CRED Subsurface Temperature Recorders (STR) provide a time series of water temperature at reef sites. Data is typically collected at 1200 second or 1800 second intervals using a SBE Model 39 from Seabird Electronics Inc. Data from prior to the deployment date/time and after the recovery date/time have been removed. A reality check and preliminary quality control involved reviewing a time series plot of the recorded data. Data format is discrete, tab-delimited ASCII files. Columns include: Date/Time (UTC), and Temperature (deg Celcius). When a STR is recovered, a new one is typically placed at the same location. Time series data (CRED Data Product) from a given site, obtained by concatenating individual STR datasets, may be available from Coral Reef Ecosystem Division (CRED), NOAA Pacific Island Fisheries Science Center. Please contact CRED with any questions. For program information see the web site <http://www.pifsc.noaa.gov/cred/oceanography.php>
Supplemental_Information:
This record refers to two (2) data files that have the same name as this metadata file. The file with extension .ASC is the raw data uploaded from the instrument, including header information. Files with extension *.cdp (CRED Data Product) have had the header information and the pre and post deployment data removed. Each row corresponds to a data record and contains seven, tab delimited text columns. Columns one through six are the UTC time given as year, month, day, hour, minute, second respectively. Column seven displays temperature in degrees celcius. Data within the *.cdp file is supplied in columnar ASCII format Column01: Year (UTC) Column02: Month Column03: Day Column04: Hour Column05: Minute Column06: Second Column07: Temperature (Deg Celcius) The file with extension .XML is the metatdata, which you are currently viewing. Sensor depth in meters: 5.7912
