Sen. Murray congratulates Robert Heer of Sequim after presenting him with the Purple Heart. Mr. Heer was a POW during World War II and was in captivity for 3 years.

Sen. Murray helped get the Purple Heart for Mr. Heer, along with the Distinguished Flying Cross for George Schwab of Moses Lake, another World War II veteran.

Mr. Schwab was presented with the award for his service as an aerial gunner in the Air Force. (08/16/02)
