In this eBriefing, Adrienne Keller, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Med-Psychiatric Medicine, University of Virginia, in conjunction with Alan Cohn, LCSW, CEAP of the EAP staff, describes a research project to design a practical evaluation for an EAP. The research was funded by the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention under the Workplace managed care initiative. Dr. Keller describes the collaborative process used to design the assessment instrument, content of the assessment, and critical decision questions in the study.
