==============================================================
Never is a dangerous word in science...but monocots and dicots are two major
of different branches of flowering plants. Plants within the same species
can hybridize and produce productive (viable) seeds, plants from different
genera are much less likely to do so and on up. Therefore, dicots and
monocots are much, much less likely to hybridize in nature.
