NEWSReport No. CS 97-9 CABLE SERVICES ACTION April 2, 1997 CABLE SERVICES BUREAU ANNOUNCES PROMOTIONS Recent promotions at the Commission's Cable Services Bureau: Rick Chessen becomes Deputy Division Chief of the Policy and Rules Division. Chessen had been serving as Assistant Division Chief. He has been with the Commission and the Cable Services Bureau since October of 1994. Nancy Markowitz has rejoined the Bureau and been appointed Deputy Division Chief of the Consumer Protection and Competition Division. Markowitz joined the Commission and the Cable Services Bureau in June of 1994. For the past year Markowitz served as Acting Legal Advisor at the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau. John Norton has been appointed Assistant Division Chief of the Consumer Protection and Competition Division. Norton has been working on cable television issues for the Commission since December of 1993 and with the Cable Services Bureau since its founding in February of 1994. He had been serving as a Senior Staff Attorney in the Consumer Protection and Competition Bureau. Deborah Klein has been appointed Assistant Division Chief of the Consumer Protection and Competition Division. Klein joined the Commission in August 1994 and, following a short stint at the Cable Services Bureau, she moved with the Competition Division to the Office of the General Counsel. She returned to the Bureau in June of 1996. Michael Lance has been appointed Deputy Division Chief of the Engineering and Technology Division. Lance had been serving as a Senior Staff Engineer in the Division.
