Northern Red Anemone
 

Northern Red Anemone (Tealia felina) - A large stout colorful anemone with 100 thick finger-like tentacles. Color is variable-red, orange, yellow, white, or combinations of these. Height 5", width up to 1'. Strongly adheres to rocks from low tide mark to over 100'.

   
Frilled Anemone  

Frilled Anemone (Metridium senile) - This common anemone has a tall smooth trunk. Adults may have 1000 tentacles giving a frilled appearance. Color variable; column - brownish, white, cream colored, or mottled. Tentacles - whitish. Height 18", width 9". Found on solid substrate, intertidally 10 150'.

   
Northern Cerianthid Anemone  

Northern Cerianthid Anemone (Cerianthus borealis) - This small anemone is found buried in sand and mud. 2 whorls of tentacles around the mouth. Color of body - brownish; oral disk - pale yellow brown, but darker towards the mouth. Height to 18", width 1 ½".
