WASHINGTON -- GSA Global Supply, largest supplier of office products, tools, cleaning supplies and other commodities to federal agencies worldwide, just added 100,000 new items, for a 700 percent increase.

The U.S. General Services Administration’s (GSA) new offerings include hand and power tools, metalworking and other equipment from commercial brands such as Craftsman, DeWalt and Milwaukee. The additions increase federal buying power, enabling agencies to purchase more items from a single source.

“GSA’s procurement expertise has enabled us to use our e-commerce capabilities to save time and money for our agency customers and increase value to taxpayers,” said Ed O’Hare, GSA assistant commissioner responsible for the Office of Global Supply. “Product expansion is a necessary step to ensure that we continue to meet the needs of some of our most important customers – soldiers and firefighters.”

GSA, already the largest supplier of Javits-Wagner-O’Day Act (JWOD) products, will continue expanding GSA Global Supply, with plans to add thousands of office products in the summer.

Global Supply orders are accepted by phone, 800-525-8027; fax, 800-856-7057, and online, www.GSAglobalsupply.gsa.gov. GSA was created by Congress to help agencies improve efficiency and better serve the public. On behalf of federal agencies, GSA’s 13,000 associates acquire office space, equipment, telecommunications, information technology, supplies and services, and provide policy solutions for more than one million federal workers in more than 8,000 buildings in 2,000 U.S. communities.
