I believe that buyer beware should be the watchword. It should be our responsibility to research the business opportunity just as we would a job opportunity. I believe that a simple standardized disclosure of income opportunities and activities would be a good start--similar to the job description and summary of benefits you would expect at a job interview. I believe the termination/cancellation policy should be included. I do not believe that a waiting period is necessary, nor do i believe that litigation, financial statements, or references should be supplied. They would certainly not be given to a newly hired employee. It would be the employee's responsibility to meet some of the people they would be working with and make a decision if they would like that environment or not. And, after they make a decision, if it is not what they expected, they can choose to look for another job or opportunity. Let's keep the responsibility on the individual.
