QUESTION: Do you have a model of the galileo space probe? ANSWER: from Laura Barnard on Jaunary 2, l996 Thank you for your question! You asked if I have a "model" of the probe. The answer is yes and no. I do not have a scale model that I can hold in my hand, however if you visit JPL in Pasadena at our museum we have a life- size model of both the orbiter and the probe. In addition to that, we have information on our home pages that is available to the public that shows pictures and diagrams of the probe. If you have internet access and a browser like Netscape or Mosaic, you can view the Galileo Probe home page at the following URL: http://ccf.arc.nasa.gov/galileo_probe/ In addition to that you should check out the Galileo Project home page at: http://www.jpl.nasa.gov:80/galileo/ Both are excellent resources for detailed pictures and diagrams of our mission at Jupiter. Please watch for the press briefing that will be scheduled in the near future after the government furlough is over! At the briefing, they will tell all of us what they found as the probe descended into the atmosphere. It should be very interesting!
