lThursday, August 15, 9 AM at C0 Assembly Building ================================================= Merrill Albertus et al., Dan Darimont, Dennis Schmitt, PHG A VERY PRODUCTIVE MEETING/DEMONSTRATION. Merril et al. placed FMI-IDC-001 and IDD-003 at 18" steel to steel separation mimicing the "unusual" A => B connection (C is similar to A, D similar to B) The 18" steel to steel separation seems to be do-able, as a minimum. It would have been harder to try to deal with a smaller separation. Dan and Dennis discussed needed "elbow" flag on bottom inner conductor for B magnet to clear the vacuum pumpout port and the top coil <=> bottom coil crossover yoke underneath. Dan has jumpers for "usual" B => A connections which will also work without any modification for the other A => B connections. Dan and Dennis also discussed design of bus flags to connect to the upstream FMI-B dipole, trying to use the exisiting 42" jumpers for the Lambertson to flag connection. At this point, the cables from B4 Service Building for the active shunt must tie in. Howie Pfeffer will have to specify cables. Since this shunt will run < 300 A rms, Dan thought one 500 MCM cable per pole would be sufficient. Note that the vacuum pumpout port and the crossover yoke will also be an issue at this end, along with proximity to the Turn-Around Box and vacuum gate valve. Merril will return these dipoles to storage in the below ground Staging Hall.
