Eels and Eel-like Bottom Dwellers

Rock Gunnel  

Rock Gunnel -black spots at regular intervals along dorsal

   

Atlantic Wolffish  

Atlantic Wolffish - robust bodies, large heads, and canine teeth, black vertical bars along body.

   

Ocean Pout  

Ocean Pout - large head, large, underslung mouth, no distinct caudal fin, dorsal starts behind head, but before base of pectoral.

   

Northern Sand Lance  

Northern Sand Lance - thin, elongated, silver, buries in the sand, large schools, forked tail

   

American Eel  

American eel - pointed head, protruding lower jaw, olive brown above and yellowish to white underside.

   

Snake Blenny  

Snake Blenny - tail is rounded at the end, dorsal has brownish, diagonal bars.
