Mon 22 Dec 1997 SOHO Daily Meeting Minutes Chaired by: L. Allen (S0C) Notes: E. Zamkoff (MDI) Announcements ------------- This came in after the daily meeting, the CNE outage that was supposed to occur yesterday did not --- there will be 2 hours between the times of 8:30 - 12:00 pm tonight (01:30 - 05:00 UT) during which the outside world will not be able to access the EOF/EAF computers. FOT REPORT ---------- Spacecraft Status: Nominal Spacecraft Anomalies: 353/1530 - SWAN limit violations during maneuver (SWAN instrument had reset, corrective patches were uplinked and back to nominal observing after maneuver). 354/1548 - CEPAC ESU bias current violated Yellow High limit (HIEVBH2=7.4) Accomplished Activities: 353 - RSL, VIRGO, TM Subformat 2, Momentum Mgt, SK Maneuver 354 - RSL, VIRGO, TM Subformat 6 355 - RSL, VIRGO, TT_NONCOHO Planned Activities: RSL, VIRGO, TM Subformat 2, Sweep RCVR2 at D27 Ground Anomalies: 353/1435 - Late AOS; D27 equipment problem (D24 covered, 4 min delay) 353/1820 - Resweeps required for ranging at D46 (10 min delay) 353/1835 - D46 late in acquiring range data (49 min) 354/1434 - Resweeps required at D27 (12 min delay) 354/1502 - TM Dropout; D27, Cause unknown (1 min, recoverable) 354/1819 - Resweeps required for ranging at D46 (13 min delay) 355/1231 - Degraded TM; D66, Cause unknown (over 3 hr, 14 min span) (Note: instrument teams are asked to look at the quality of their data during that time, and report it to ECS Staff. The FOT wants to investigate the cause and access instrument impacts). 356/0346 - Unable to cmd; D46 xmtr problems (3 hr, 1 min delay) 356/0852 - TM Dropout; RCVR1 lost lock (4 min, unrecoverable) 356/0919 - Resweeps required for ranging at D66 (10 min delay) SOLAR STATUS ------------ Galaxy is coming into LASCO C3 field of view. Halo CME on North part of disk late Saturday, but LASCO missed first part of it (door was closed at the time). Saturday there was a bright blip on SW limb at 06:33 followed by CME. Darkening Saturday night on NW limb probably from behind the limb and loops split. Sunday at 06:00 was an event at the SE limb. Sunday at 16:09 was an event at disk center - a quick opening and closing from AR 8124. Sunspots associated with AR coming over E limb. INSTRUMENT STATUS ----------------- CDS: Nominal. Resumed observations on Sunday: observed S and N coronal holes, W limb coronal observations, AR 8123 sunspot observations. Today: engineering atlases, observations of AR approaching W limb, after submode change will be GIS study of coronal hole boundary. Tomorrow: long observation of N coronal hole with GIS. SUMER: Door closed, not observing. UVCS: Nominal. Solar wind studies continuing. Sat: observed S pole at 5.4 Rs. Sun: observed S pole at 4.8 Rs. Today at 4.2 Rs. Tomorrow: starting 12 day global sun study. LASCO: Nominal. Switching to submode #2 at 20:00 UT for galatic map. EIT: Nominal. 195 full field full res images at 15 min cadence before submode switch. After the switch the cadence will be 10-11 mins and the synoptic program will be run once a day. MDI: Nominal. Full disk mags today and then mag movies (full disk and high res alternating every 5 mins) for the next 2 weeks.
