- Abstract: This is a dataset of distribution models for Texas mammals.
- Purpose: Define the distribution areas for each mammal species.
- Supplemental_Information:

GAP species habitat profiles were developed with state experts in mammals (130). Each habitat profile was created using vegetation, soil, hydrography, elevation, temperature, precipitation, and county boundary data, where appropriate. Documented field maps were used to clip each profile range. The vegetation classifications were developed using The Nature Convervancy, "International Classification of Ecological Communities: Terrestrial Vegetation of the Southeastern United States," working draft of March 1998.
