JACQUELINE DESMARTIS®
(Desmartis & Cie., Bergerac , France . Undated promotional brochure received 11/4/80): The latest creation of DESMARTIS, entered into the nursery trade for the first time in 1980. We have kept it in our collection because of its extremely interesting characteristics: Shiny pink coloring (pink camellia). Vigorous, pliant trunk. Exceptional flowering with numerous thyrses, perfectly formed.
(Woody Plant Registration Form, U.S. National Arboretum, Washington, DC. 1982): Upright, vigorous; trunk pliant; shiny pink coloring (pink camellia); exceptional flowering with numerous perfectly formed thyrses; orig. Lagerstroemia indica hybrid by controlled pollination; intro. in 1980 by Jacques Desmartis. Name registered October 1, 1982.
[NOTE: In accordance with the 1995 International Code of Nomenclature for Cultivated Plants, names that are trademarked are not valid cultivar names. Therefore, the registration of the cultivar name JACQUELINE DESMARTIS is rescinded and the cultivar name DESJAC 124 is registered and approved as of January 1, 1996. JEANNE DESMARTIS®
(Desmartis & Cie., Bergerac , France . Cat. p. 18. 1973-74): Compact growth; fls. mid-July to late August, rose (Bengal Rose), recurrent bloom. Orig. as hybrid developed by Andre Desmartis, Bergerac , France . Named and intro. by Desmartis & Cie. in 1973. Name registered January 15, 1975.

JET STREAM
(Greenleaf Nursery Co., El Campo , TX . Cat. Fall 1979-Spring 1980): Tall, white. (Leon R. Macha, Greenleaf Nursery Co., El Campo, TX. Letter, 10/8/79): We call this variety JET STREAM for lack of a better name. We feel it might be GLENDORA.

(Flower and Garden. p. 57. June, 1978, advertisement Myrtles, Baton Rouge, Louisiana): Pink. Plant Patent #4182, issued January 10, 1978 : Weeping, dwarf, mature height 10-20 in; fls. Neyron Rose (55B). Orig. as seedling selected by D.E. Chopin, Baton Rouge, Louisiana; assigned to Chopin & Wright Nursery, Ltd., Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Name registered December 15, 1980.
[NOTE: This name was originally registered December 15, 1980 , and published in The Lagerstroemia Handbook/Checklist, AABGA, p. 42-43. 1978. A request by the originator to change the name to BOURBON STREET was made in a letter dated December 10, 1981. At that time the request was denied. In accordance with Article 14.3, International Code of Nomenclature for Cultivated Plants-1995, p. 17, 1995, the name BOURBON STREET is now the accepted epithet.]
