Harkers Island,N.C.--Cape LookoutNational Seashore Superintendent Russel J. Wilson announced the arrival of the first foal of 2008 atCape LookoutNational Seashore.
The foal was born in mid April as the spring grasses turned green on Shackleford Banks. Approximately 7 to 9 more foals are anticipated this summer.
According to parentage, determined after birth, selected youngsters will be removed and available for public adoption through the Foundation for Shackleford Horses, Inc. For adoption information, contact Anita Kimball at (252) 241-5222.
