This Sources Sought is being issued by the United States Department of Agricultural (USDA), Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS), Fruit and Vegetable (F&V) Programs, Commodity Procurement Branch (CPB), Room 1406-S, 1400 Independence Avenue, SW, Washington, DC 20090, is seeking to increase the agency's vendor base for qualified Small Businesses (all types) and Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) who service under the NAICS Code - 311411 - Frozen Fruit, Juice, and Vegetable Manufacturing; 311421 - Fruit and Vegetable Canning; 311423 - Dried and Dehydrated Food Manufacturing. Manufacturers must be small businesses (under 500 employees) and are approved in accordance with the AMS, FV, CPB website "New Vendor Application Procedures" link located at: http://www.ams.usda.gov/fvprocurement. All vendors responding to this publication must complete the required documents, as specified on this website. The site will refer to the completion and submission of specific documentation and the registration into Federally-sponsored databases. AMS seeks all vendors who are manufacturers and non-manufacturers of fruit and vegetable products. Small manufacturers are sought that produce canned, frozen, dried and fresh fruits and vegetables for use in the National School Lunch Program and other Federal nutrition assistance programs. Sources are sought for the following canned fruit products: applesauce, apple slices, apricots, cherries, mixed fruit, peaches, pears, plums and cranberry sauce. Sources are sought for the following frozen fruit products: apple slices, apricots, blackberries, blueberries, cherries and peaches. Sources are sought for the following dried fruit products: dried plums, raisins, figs, and fruit and nut mix. Sources are being sought for the following fresh fruit products: apples, oranges, and pears. Sources are being sought for the following canned vegetable products: green beans, carrots, whole corn, cream corn, mixed vegetables, peas, potatoes, pumpkin, tomato products, salsa, spaghetti sauce, sweet potatoes and vegetable soup. Sources are being sought for the following legume products: dried bag beans and canned beans (many types). Sources are being sought for the following vacuum packed vegetables: whole corn. Sources are being sought for the following frozen vegetable products: green beans, carrots, corn, peas, potatoes and sweet potatoes.  All processed fruit and vegetable products purchased by USDA must be of 100% domestic origin. This request is for information only; proposals are not being requested nor will they be accepted in response to this synopsis. No contracts will be awarded solely on the basis of the responses to this synopsis. A comprehensive list of approved Small and SDVOSBs vendors responding to this publication will be forwarded to Agency Contracting Officers for consideration in future and ongoing Invitation for Bid (IFB) contract opportunities. The resulting list is intended to assist procurement officials within the agency in meeting mandatory small business goals for FY 2009 awards. All information must be submitted to: Dianna M.
