FBI - Multi-Media Resource Unit POSITION: The FBI's Multi-media Resource Unit is offering full-time unpaid internships to qualifying students during Spring and Fall semesters. The Multi-media Resource Unit is (MRU) located at the FBI Academy on the Marine Corps Base at Quantico, Virginia. DUTIES: The duties will vary in accordance with the needs of the Multi-media Resource Unit and the skills and interests of the student. Interns will assist with the coordination and development of the FBI's Virtual Academy (FBIVA) as a delivery model for training to all FBI employees. This coordination involves developing training functions, such as, web-based learning, computer-based learning, virtual classrooms, and digital collaboration, within the FBIVA to meet the needs of the FBI. Interns will develop content to populate the Virtual Academy such as weblinks, references, resources, scheduling of training and converting instructor led courses to technology-based courses for delivery. The Virtual Academy is vital to ensure training is available to FBI employees for life-long learning and continual professional development. MRU also has video, graphics and photography departments. QUALIFICATIONS: The student should be majoring in instructional technology, web development, television production, computer science or a related field; however, other majors may be considered on a case-by-case basis. The student must have at least a college junior standing, be enrolled at least half-time, and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Experience with microcomputers is desirable. Proficient writing skills and analytical abilities are necessary. The student must be a U.S. citizen and able to provide their own transportation and lodging. The student must be able to qualify under FBI standards pertaining to the use of illegal drugs and must successfully pass a polygraph and drug test as part of the background investigation. This also requires the applicant to be fingerprinted and complete a comprehensive background information questionnaire. Final selections will be contingent upon a successful background investigation by the FBI. HOURS: The working hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. Interns will be expected to work 40 hours a week. The internship starts the first week in September for the Fall program and the second week in January for the Spring program.
