Shown are the main chemical tank and nitrogen expellant gas cylinders for the fire suppression system. When a fire occurs and the system is activated either automatically or manually, the gas expellant cylinders are activated by pressure from the actuator cartridges located either in the operator’s compartment or beside the scrubber. The expellant cartridges then supply pressure to the dry chemical tank(s) where it fluidizes the dry chemical and distributes it to all nozzles, which are placed in critical areas of the machine, to extinguish the fire.
