The watermelon pilot program is an Actual Production History (APH) plan of multiple peril crop
insurance. For unharvested and direct marketed acreage, appraisals will be performed to determine
the production to count against the guarantee. Insured causes of loss are:
- Adverse weather
- Fire
- Wildlife
- Insects
- Plant disease
- Earthquake
- Volcanic eruption
- Failure of irrigation water supply
- Excess wind
