Isakson, Chambliss Announce Rural Development Funds for Shellman

WASHINGTON U.S. Senators Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.) and Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.) today announced that the City of Shellman will receive a $12,000 grant for rehabilitation to a downtown building from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development funds.

The funds will be used to pay a portion of the architectural fees related to the rehabilitation of a building in the downtown area for use as a medical clinic.

“I am pleased that Shellman has received these funds from the USDA to revitalize and convert a downtown building to become a useful medical clinic,” said Isakson.

“I am pleased that Shellman has received funding to assist increasing medical support in the community,” Chambliss said.  “I appreciate the work of USDA Rural Development for their assistance in securing this funding for the people of Shellman.”
