Henry's Fork — Snake River
This slow and meandering high desert river is dominated by cottonwood stands in a gravel alluvium floodplain. Originating at the outlet of Henry’s Lake, this area is world-famous for excellent fly fishing opportunities and is home to many trumpeter swans. The headwaters of Henry’s Fork also provides habitat for moose, muskrat, geese and blue heron, as well as spawning grounds for rainbow trout. This section of the river was named after Andrew Henry, the first white explorer to experience and acknowledge the breath-taking beauty of the area.
