This software is very similar to the production software in the GSFC Distributed Active Archive Center (DAAC), but has been adapted to work with orbit and attitude data within the MODIS packets (instead of external ancillary files), and to remove commercial library dependencies. "Alpha" means that the installation process is not as clean as it could be, and more could be done to simplify running the algorithms. Helpful feedback on improving these is appreciated. We'll be shooting for an "official" 1.0 in May. More information, including the procedure for requesting the software, can be found at our website: http://daac.gsfc.nasa.gov/DAAC_DOCS/direct_broadcast/ P.S.: I'd like to note one special caveat: attitude in the MODIS packets is relative to commanded attitude. Commanded attitude SHOULD be zero, except during a maneuver. However, given the recent maneuver, caution is indicated with respect to the geolocation of the first few passes. We'll be running some tests next week... ===================================================================== Chris Lynnes Ph: 301-614-5185 Distributed Active Archive Center Fax: 301-614-5268 Code 902, NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, MD 20771, USA To get data from the GSFC DAAC, see URL: http://daac.gsfc.nasa.gov/
