Glowing
Bubble in Ursa Major
A
twisting, luminous bubble towers 3,500 light-years above a blazing
cauldron at the core of a distant galaxy in this image captured
by JPL's Wide-Field and Planetary Camera 2 aboard the Hubble Space
Telescope. The image shows glowing gas as red and starlight as
blue and green. The galaxy, NGC 3079, is located 50 million light-years
from Earth in the constellation Ursa Major. |
