True Bugs (Order Hemiptera)
People refer to many insects as "bugs," but the order hemiptera are "true" bugs. What sets true bugs apart from other insects is that they have two sets of wings, the forewings are thickened at the base and membranous at the top, and they have piercing and sucking mouthparts. Terrestrial true bugs primarily fed on the plants of ancient Florissant, whereas the aquatic true bugs were predators, such as the water scorpions.
