The last comprehensive update was published in the Federal Register on March 15, 1993, (58 FR 13950). Increases approved since the last update are included in the attached document. This is also the first comprehensive update since the Department ceased issuing mortgage limit increases through publication in the Federal Register in August 1993 and began issuing increases through administrative directives. This update reflects changes created by Public Law 103-327, which the President signed on September 28, 1994. The legislation increased the mortgage limit ceiling for non-high cost areas from $67,500 for a one-family dwelling to 38 percent of the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac conforming loan limits (currently resulting in $77,197 for a one-family dwelling). It also increased the ceiling for high-cost areas from $151,725 for a one-family dwelling to 75 percent of the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac conforming limits (now $152,362 for a one family dwelling).
