Larissa Bailey

Larissa Bailey Larissa L. Bailey, USGS Patuxent Wildlife Research Center, Wildlife Biologist. Larissa received a master’s degree in Biomathematics and Ph.D. in Zoology from North Carolina State University. Her dissertation work focused on terrestrial salamander communities in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. She joined the NE ARMI research team and USGS Patuxent Wildlife Research Center in September 2005. Her research focuses primarily on amphibian population ecology, including methods to determine population size and distribution, as well as the processes that cause changes in amphibian populations.

Evan Grant

Evan Grant Evan H. Campbell Grant, USGS Patuxent Wildlife Research Center, SCEP Biologist. Evan began working with the NE ARMI research team in March of 2003, just in time for the breeding migration of the spotted salamanders and the beginning of the field season. Evan assists in the collection of data during the field season, and summarizes, analyzes, and reports data collected from the NE ARMI research program for the remainder of the year. He is a PhD candidate at the University of Maryland, College Park, and spends lots of time in Dr. Margaret Palmer's and Dr. Bill Fagan's labs. His research focuses on the movement ecology of stream amphibians. Evan spends his spare time outdoors canoeing, climbing, biking, hiking, and spreading the joy of toads.

Sandra Mattfeldt

Sandra Mattfeldt Sandra Mattfeldt, USGS Patuxent Wildlife Research Center, Biological Science Technician. In 2004, Sandra received her Master's degree in Natural Resources: Wildlife, studying the landscape ecology of vernal pool amphibians, with Dr. Kimberly J. Babbitt at the University of New Hampshire. Before graduate school Sandra worked as a herpetological field technician for the Wildlife Conservation Society. Sandra began working with the NE ARMI research team in March of 2005. Sandra’s responsibilities include fieldwork, assisting with the design and management of the NE ARMI database, and preparing research reports.
