RAMAS GIS - Linking Spatial Data with Population Viability Analysis
Entry ID:
RAMAS_GIS
|
Summary
RAMAS GIS is designed to link your GIS with a metapopulation model for
population viability analysis and extinction risk assessment. Habitats used by
most species are becoming increasingly fragmented, requiring a metapopulation
modeling approach to risk analysis. Recognizing habitat patchiness from an
endangered species' point of view requires spatial information on ... habitat
suitability. RAMAS GIS meets both these requirements by linking metapopulation
modeling with landscape data and GIS technology. It is a comprehensive
extinction risk assessment system that operates in five steps - spatial data,
patch recognition, habitat dynamics, metapopulation model, and ecological risk
assessment.
Microsoft Windows 95/98/2000/NT 4.0/XP. The program will not work under Windows
3 or 3.1.
Memory: Memory requirements depend on the operating system. Minimum and
recommended RAM given at http://www.ramas.com/rg4tech.htm.
