Craft Emergency Relief Fund, Inc. (aka CERF)

To support development of an emergency relief response plan for artists in the United States. CERF will work in partnership with the New York Foundation on the Arts, Artist Trust, the North Carolina Arts Council, and the Texas Commission on the Arts to organize a 10-member task force to develop a master plan.

Flynn Theatre for the Performing Arts, Ltd. (on behalf of Burlington Discover Jazz Festival)

To support artist residencies and performances at the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival. Educational activities will include a jazz scholar-in-residence, pre-performance lectures, and dialogues with the performing artists.

To support field research to identify and document the music and dance traditions of African, Bosnian, Tibetan, Laotian, and Vietnamese communities. Artists identified through this research will be presetnted at the annual Champlain Valley Folk Festival.

To support the continuation of a statewide Traditional Arts Apprenticeship program. The apprenticeship program encourages the preservation of living traditional arts by funding master artists to work with less experienced apprentices in order to pass along time-honored skills and knowledge.

To support the conservation and stabilization of historic painted theater curtains. Once conserved, most of the curtains will be reinstalled in their original locations for public use and appreciation.

To support a multi-state tour of Mary Zimmerman's adaptation of Ovid's Metamorphoses to rural and underserved audiences throughout New England. Targeting communities with no resident theater company, the production will be supplemented by study guides, workshops, pre-show lectures, audio description, and ASL interpretation.
