It is to your advantage to plan your trip early (especially to obtain cheap air fare). Please let Mrs. Kathy Mork at FSU know about your travel plans (see bottom of text). If you require additional information, please contact Mrs. Mork, Vasken or me (in that order). I will be sending out a proposed agenda for the meeting shortly. Andris. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ US CMS HCAL Meeting in TALLAHASSIE (Feb 14 & 15) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The US CMS HCAL meeting in Tallahassee will be held on February 14 and 15 (Friday and Saturday) at the Physics Department (Keen Building) of Florida State University. We will use our meeting room 503 on the fifth floor where most of the high energy physics offices are located. The room has video conferencing equipment connected to an ISDN line which at the present time work only at 56Kbaud. There are plenty of computer terminals and work stations. Monday February 17 is Presidents' Day Holiday so discount airline fares have some restrictions. Tallahassee is served by Delta Airlines (with most flights via Atlanta) and US Air with most flights via Charlotte, NC. Delta uses only jet airplanes. Some samples of air fares: there are sales going on at the present time which reduces ticket costs. AIRFARE from Chicago to Tallahassee: If ticket is purchased by 1/13/97 - $248.00 - restrictions apply May not fly on Friday, 2/14 or Monday 2/17 Must stay over Saturday night Normal air fares: (Note coach fare with no restriction costs $ 879.00) 21 day in advance - $380.60 - must stay over Saturday night 7 day in advance - $506.00 - must stay over Saturday night All major car rental companies are located at the airport. The Hotels are close enough that cars are not needed to come to the meeting and as is usual with most campuses, parking will not be easy on Friday (no problem on Saturday). Taxi from the airport to the hotels is about $ 15.00. If you let us know in advance we can pick you up on Thursday afternoon or evening. Please make reservations for the hotels and you need to guarantee if arriving after 6 pm.
