Objectives:
- Model & predict slung load behavior; develop active/passive stabilization
- Develop & validate wind/turbulence flight mechanics models for gust rejection
- Develop HQ criteria for civil vehicles and missions
- Provide flight control design tools, rapid prototyping, virtual flight test capabilities
- Adapt flight-control simulation models to be used for PC-based trainers
- Develop national variability-stability in-flight simulation facility(RASCAL)
- Improve RC stability using methods suitable for retrofitting into current fleet
- Develop dynamics- and control-design center for future civil RC UAVs
- Enable use of full RC capability without exceeding flight envelope
