Breakfast Time (Poor Betsy)


     The sun's coming up in
      A polaroid sky
     Bluer than blue, redder than red
      Rounder than pie
     And the early worm catches a robin's song

     'Tis already time to
      Turn on T.V.
     To find out today what the 
      Forecast will be
     And why yesterday's weather prediction was wrong

     Find out if the Loch Ness 
      Monster's still there.
     Will there be another 
      Hi-jacking scare.
     Can we buy more than three jelly beans for a dime?

     And what's new in this beautiful
      Wicked old world
     With it's breezes so soft and its 
      Banners unfurled?
     Asks poor Betsy at breakfast time.
