S96-10558 (August 1995) --- Two NASA astronauts participate in water survival training in the Black Sea while assigned to a period of flight preparation and training at the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center in Star City, Russia. They are astronauts Shannon W. Lucid and John E. Blaha, recently assigned as cosmonaut researchers for the Russian Space Agency's (RSA) Mir-21 and Mir-22 missions, respectively. Lucid will be delivered to the Mir Space Station by the Space Shuttle Atlantis when NASA launches its STS-76 flight in March of next year. The Space Shuttle Atlantis will be used again on STS-79, later in the summer, to drop off Blaha and pick up Lucid.
