This image is a composite of the images taken by five telescope on one of the twin STEREO spacecraft. The largest field of view extends to Earth; the black wedge is an occultor to block Earthlight from this very sensitive telescope. The smallest field of view (in green in this image) shows the Sun itself in ultraviolet light. The two circular fields of view centered on the Sun (one red, one black) are the inner and outer coronagraphs. These telescopes create artificial eclipses by occulting the Sun. The circular field of view between the Sun-centered and very large fields of view fills in the panorama which extends from the Sun to Earth.
