NSSDC ID: MARINH -02
Mission Name: Mariner-H
Principal Investigator: Dr. Charles A. Barth
The experiment was designed to measure atmospheric radiation from resonance re-radiation, fluorescence, absorption, particle bombardment emission and scattering in the 1100 A to 3400 A range with 20-A spectral resolution and 0.3-deg angular resolution. The instrument was a two-channel reflecting-grating spectrometer with an occulting-slit telescope and a photomultiplier detector. A surface resolution of 10- by 10-km was obtained at periapsis atlitude of 200 km.
