RESPONSIBILITY OR RESEARCH INTEREST:

I am interested in and have been studying fish populations and life histories in resacas. My general interest is in fish ecology generally in resacas.

All projects have been recently initiated.

CURRENT OR ON-GOING ACTIVITIES, PROJECTS, RESEARCH:

I am, with three students, investigating life history patterns in resaca dwelling species, and we are particularly interested in differences exhibited by species that inhabit a wide range of habitats -- urban vs. rural, degree of physical and chemical degradation, state of eutrophy, permanent vs. ephemeral, frequency of connection to nearby water bodies, distance from Rio Grande, and other variables.

PRIORITY INFORMATION OR RESEARCH NEEDS:

We need water and physical quality data for numbers of water bodies, fish assemblage data, and historical data where available.
