Here is a list of fiction we put together for young adults who were
volunteering with our organization. NOTE - that most were NOT selected for
an easy reading level, but rather because they are humdinging classics of
literature. Some, like Hemingway, Hinton, Vonnegut, King, Steinbeck, Jackson
and Poe may be useful for emerging readers?  Poe and others here are
certainly great for reading aloud.  At any rate, we recommend this list of
fiction for all you literacy practioners out there, and of course your kids
and your moms.
