Description/Abstract Three new coal-fired power projects were announced in the USA in June, bringing the generating capacity of new projects brought on line or announced within the past 24 months to almost 12,000 MW. A new coal and coal waste-fired mine month power plant is to be built in Upshur County by Dominion and Anker Energy. An additional generating unit will be built at Santee Cooper's Cross Generating Station in South Carolina; and Great Plains Power will built a coal-fired plant at Weston Bend I, near Weston, MO. 1 photo.
