Comment 04116501 From: gary zizka [gzizka@yahoo.com] Sent: Monday, September 26, 2005 5:25 AM To: Rulemaking, TTB Cc: gzizka@yahoo.com Subject: Notice 41 RE: Notice 41 As a consumer, I believe it is time for TTB to require modernization of alcohol labels to provide basic consumer information, such as: 1. alcohol content 2. serving size and servings per container 3. alcohol per serving 4. carbs, calories, fat and protein per serving 5. the definition of a standard serving that is used by all agencies of the federal government with a role in alcohol policy: 0.6 fl oz (or 14g) and the line "A serving of this beverage is X standard servings." From already-posted comments, it is clear that some industry interests view standard servings and alcohol per serving as some sort of competitive claim. That is incorrect. It is simply a scientific fact that is neither "misleading nor dangerous." I also urge you to allow companies to place on labels factual information like that listed above immwediately because we cannot wait for a lengthy rulemaking process to transpire. Thank you. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com
