Corsicana Invincibles and Navarro Rifles: One group of volunteers from Navarro County, calling themselves "The Corsicana Invincibles," were incorporated into Company E of the Texas 1st Infantry Regiment. Another group, known as "The Navarro Rifles," comprised Company I of the Texas 4th Infantry Regiment. See John W. Spencer, From Corsicana to Appomattox: The Story of the Corsicana Invincibles and the Navarro Rifles (Corsicana, TX: Texas Press, 1984), pp. 1-9.

3rd Cavalry/9th Cavalry/Ross' Brigade: The Texas 3rd and 9th Cavalry Regiments were part of Ross' Brigade (for a time Whitfield's-Ross' Brigade) from August 1863 to May 1865. See Stewart Sifakis, Compendium of the Confederate Armies: Texas (New York, Oxford: Facts on File, 1995), pp. 48, 62.

12th Cavalry/Morgan's Battalion/Parsons's Brigade: The Texas 12th Cavalry Regiment and Morgan's Cavalry Battalion were part of Parsons's Brigade at various points during their respective histories.
