Description/Abstract A process is outlined for making unporous finned carbonaceous tubes suitable for use in heat exchange equipment. The process comprises extruding through a tubeforming die a mix of carbon particles, pitch, and a plasticizer, baking and graphitizing the extruded mix, and impregnating with resin once or twice. The process results in a product with a total pore volume less than 0.18 cc per cc of tube wall and a pore diameter less than 8to 9 mu . (D.L.C.)
