GSO Sales

GSO Office usually conducts disposal of property by sealed bid sales (2 to 3 times a year) in accordance with 14 FAM.

This Public Sales can be divided into two kinds—taxable and non-taxable. For taxable sales, the winning bidder is required to pay customs duty at host government office prior to collecting the items.

Prospective bidders must pay a refundable deposit of 100,000/- kyats prior to submitting a bid list. Bid amount must be in FEC. Detailed bidding form & instructions are available at 1,000/- kyats per set. Each lot will be awarded to the highest bidder.

Current Public Sales

The United States Embassy, Rangoon will hold public sales on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at former U.S embassy and New U.S Embassy.  All property will be sold by sealed bid and by lot.  Bidders must make a deposit in Kyat, but bid and pay in FEC.

The used property available for sale includes generator, forklift,  trailer, utility mobiles, etc.  Items may have a customs duty assessed which must be paid prior to collecting the items.
