ANNOUNCEMENT

AMERICAN ENTOMOLOGICAL INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS

The American Entomological Institute is now publishing its journals Memoirs of the American Entomological Institute and Contributions of the American Entomological Institute directly, rather than through Associated Publishers. Therefore, the Institute is actively seeking manuscripts for its publications. The focus of the Institute's journals is arthropod systematics. Memoirs (55 volumes to date, beginning in 1961) deal with monographic studies or catalogs of 300 printed pages or more; Contributions (27 volumes to date) takes smaller papers (32-250 pages). These publications appear at irregular intervals as manuscripts are received, averaging 2-3 Memoirs and one volume of Contributions per year. Publication time for these refereed publications is rapid and page charges are either low (Contributions) or lacking (Memoirs).

Examples of Memoirs include:
Vol. 46. Gordh, G. 1990. A catalog of the world Bethylidae (Hymenoptera: Aculeata).
Vol. 47. Gauld, I. 1991. The Ichneumonidae of Costa Rica, 1.
Vol. 51. Johnson, N.F. 1992. Catalog of World species of Proctotrupoidea, exclusive of
Platygastridae (Hymenoptera).
Vol. 56. Moulton, S.R., II, & K.W. Stewart. 1996. Caddisflies (Tricoptera) of the interior
highlands of North America.

To be published by the end of the year:
Vol. 57. Gauld, I. The Ichneumonidae (Hymenoptera) of Costa Rica, 2.
Vol. 58. Yu, D.S. and K. Horstmann. Catalogue of world Ichneumonidae (Hymenoptera).

Forthcoming Memoirs title:
Yang, L., & J.C. Morse. The Leptoceridae (Trichoptera) of China.

The following Contributions will be out this year, released as separate numbers of vol. 29:
Revision of the Nearctic species of the arcuata group of the genus Tenthredo with notes on the
higher classification of the Tenthredinini (Hymenoptera, Symphyta, Tenthredinidae), by H. Goulet.
A revision of the genus Chaetocnema of America north of Mexico (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae),
by Richard E. White.
A review of the world genera of Trigonoderini (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea, Pteromalidae), by
S.L. Heyden.
The Institute journals are continuing series and have not been replaced by Associated Publishers' new titles "Memoirs of Entomology, International" and "Contributions of Entomology, International."
